Comic Market, commonly referred to as “Comike”, is one of Japan’s biggest events for anime, manga, and game held in Tokyo.

 

It takes place twice a year, once in summer and again in winter, at Tokyo Big Sight. The event began in 1975, and now attracts fans from all over the world. It is an extremely large-scaled and well-known gathering.

 

The main focus of this event is on selling dōjinshi (self-published works)and fan-made goods created by people who want to support and celebrate their favorite series. In addition to walking around and shopping, participating in cosplay is also one of the biggest highlights of Comiket.

  • You can find high-quality dōjinshi (self-published works), often sold directly by the creators themselves, and you may have the opportunity to speak with them. Some works are Comiket exclusives, available only at the event.
